India’s First Medical Technology University to be Established in Vizag
Scheduled to begin operations in the 2025-26 academic year, the university will provide a variety of academic programs focused on medical technology and regulatory affairs.

AP Medical Technology Zone in Visakhapatnam has embarked on establishing a greenfield Global MedTech University, the first of its kind in the country, on its premises. The University is all set to work on a public-private partnership model by collaborating with industry players.
Scheduled to begin in the 2025-26 academic year, the university will provide a variety of academic programs in medical technology and regulatory affairs. These will include an MBA in Medical Regulatory Approvals and Entrepreneurship, MTech degrees in Medical Technology Devices and Bioengineering, as well as PhD courses.
Hanumanthu Purushotham, a distinguished scientist and former CMD of the National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), as well as the DPIIT-IPR Chair Professor at Andhra University, has been appointed as the founding Director of the Global MedTech University.
